To use this with Universal Character Vault (UCV), open UCV. Then follow the following directions:

1. Go to the File menu and select "Add/Remove Game System Data..."
2. From the popup window, click the Add Game System button.
3. From the Open window, navigate to the Shadowgate.xml file included with this pack.
4. If you'd like to try the Ad Hoc system to create supporting characters, load this game system, too.

Next you will want to import a style sheet. These are used to display your character. The default style sheet is the Shadowgate.xsl document. The following directions show how to import this sheet, but the same procedure can be used to import the ShadowgateWiki.xsl and ShadowgateWordpress.xsl documents.

1. Go to the File menu and select "Add/Remove Stylesheet..."
2. From the popup window, click the Add Style Sheet button.
3. From the Open window, select the Shadowgate.xsl file included with this pack.
4. From the Select Game System popup menu, select Shadowgate Essentials.
5. Enter a name for this style sheet, such as "Shadowgate".
6. Repeat the above steps to add extra style sheets such as one to create code for WordPress or a MediaWiki site.
7. Repeat the above steps to add style sheets to the ShadowgateAdHoc game syste, if you are using it.

To use the stylesheets, first enter a new character using Shadowgate Essentials for the game system. Then bring up the Character Sheet window (quick key is cmd-4 for Mac, ctrl-4 for Windows). Click the Styles icon to see a menu of Generic and Shadowgate-specific style sheets. Choose whichever one you want to use. You can click the Journals icon if you want to also display your journals. Note that only stylesheets that support portraits will show it, assuming you have a portrait selected for your character.

WIKI EXPORTS
You can use the ShadowgateWiki stylesheet to export the character to a MediaWiki-compatible wiki. Simply select everything in the white output portion of the window and paste it into a wiki page you are editing.

WORDPRESS EXPORTS
You can use the ShadowgateWordpress stylesheet to export the character to a Wordpress post. To do so, select everything in the white output portion of the window and paste it into a post you are currently editing. You need to be in Text mode, not Visual.
